By using thicket, you agree to these terms. This is early stage software. Treat it accordingly.
Who can use thicket
You must be at least 13 years old to have an account. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we will delete it.
The app
thicket helps you find and check in at public parks. Check ins, XP, streaks, and achievements are for fun. They carry no monetary value and are not redeemable for anything outside the app.
Your account
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign in secure. Do not impersonate anyone, submit false check ins, or otherwise try to falsify your location or activity.
What you submit
You keep ownership of the photos, reviews, ratings, park submissions, and reports you submit. You give us permission to host, store, resize, display, and distribute that content inside thicket and on our website, and to review, moderate, or remove it. This permission exists so the app can show your content to other people, and it ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we are required to keep something to comply with the law or to handle a dispute already underway.
You are telling us, when you submit something, that it is yours to submit: that you took the photo or wrote the words, or otherwise have the right to give us that permission.
What not to submit
Do not submit anything that is:
- someone else's work, used without their permission
- sexual content, graphic violence, or content that promotes self harm
- harassing, hateful, or threatening, or that targets a person or group
- an impersonation of another person, organisation, or park authority
- private information about someone else, including photographs of people who have not agreed to appear
- deliberately false, including fake reviews and invented parks
- illegal, or an encouragement to break the law
Photographs of children who are not yours, taken in public, are a particular problem in an app that records where and when a photo was taken. Do not submit them.
Reporting and removal
Every photo, review, and profile in thicket can be reported from inside the app. Reports reach a person, not a queue nobody reads. We may remove content, hide it while we look at it, restrict what an account can do, or close an account, and we may do so without notice where the content is seriously harmful.
If you believe something in thicket infringes your copyright, email hello@getthicket.app with enough detail to find it, a description of the work you own, and confirmation that you are the owner or authorised to act for them. We will remove or disable content that appears to infringe, and we will close the accounts of people who do it repeatedly.
Be careful out there
thicket tells you about public parks. It does not control them. Trail conditions, weather, wildlife, and park rules are yours to check before you go. Use the app only when it is safe to do so, and never while driving.
No warranty
thicket is provided as is, during an active alpha, without warranties of any kind. Park data, hours, and conditions may be inaccurate or out of date. We work to keep them correct and cannot guarantee it.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, blckbrd technologies LLC is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app or from your visits to the parks it lists.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms as the app develops, and we may suspend or close accounts that break them. When a change materially affects you, we will ask you to read and accept the new version in the app rather than quietly updating this page. The version and date are at the top.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri.
